Swindled by "Free" Notebook Deal by AT&T - LG notebook
My husband got a new iPhone 6 with a two year contract. The sales rep told us about the deal AT&T was having with new iPad for $99 but we declined because we were thinking about getting a cheap notebook for the kids. When we were about done with the transaction, he brings out another notebook and tells us it's only $0.99 to get it. Since it was so cheap, we decided to get it. As the sales rep was going over our contract he only talks about my husband's iPhone 6 and the two year contract. But to our surprise we got our bill and it showed that we had three lines associated with our bill: one for my phone line, one for my husband, and the other we had no idea. When I contacted customer service to ask about the third line they stated it was for the notebook. When I explained that we did not want to hook up the notebook as an additional line and want to cancel the line, I was informed that if we cancel we would get penalized because the notebook was under a two year contract. I explained that we were not informed of the two year contract and if we were we would have never opted to get the notebook from the sales rep. So I offered to return the notebook to AT&T but was told that we have to return it to the store where we got it from. We'll, we've since then moved to another state and are not able to return it to the store we got it from. We don't want the extra line and we don't want the notebook. But we were told we would still be penalized for the cancellation of the contract. Very disappointed in AT&T. If we weren't stuck with my husband's contract with his phone then we'd drop at&t in a heartbeat. Meanwhile we're still trying to resolve the issue with the notebook.
