AT&T Uverse poor customer and technical support services - AT&T U-verse service
I was charged for an additional receiver box that I did not use. I contacted uverse CS (7/17/15) and they supposedly made adjustments totaling $102. The extra box was supposed to be removed in a simple transaction (according to the CS rep) that would only take a half hour at the most. On 7/18 the tech arrived and took almost 2 hour to work on the box removal. One hour after the tech left, all services were down (phone, internet, TV). I informed uverse CS and another tech came on 7/19 and spent 3hours but the problem persisted. This tech told me to call him and his supervisor if the services were still down. His supervisor's phone could not accept any more messages and the second tech did not respond back. After losing 8 hours (7/20) of waiting time and with an impending trip coming on the next day, another tech appointment was made but this tech never showed or called. I had to leave town with security connections down plus I missed an important medical appointment due to this AT&T blunder. I discovered later that the tech on 7/20 reported that he arrived but no one was home. So, I missed 9 days of service plus my home was at risk due to security services being down. I cancelled uverse service on 7/25 and my account was paid until 7/26. I had been an uverse customer since its inception (8 years) and there were numerous service interruptions and CS blunders/fiascos. I am owned $102 for the overbilling on the additional box, $56 for the service disruption totaling 9 days ($6/day), in addition to a cell phone charge of $25 for an increase in data usage due to access of service that was not provided from uverse. On 7/28 I was told by uverse CS that I would not be refunded because I ended or cancelled my service. Also, I was told the techs had tried to contact me after the fact (after 7/20 I left town) when uverse was knowledgeable of my departure date and circumstances. I would like my $183 refund for the service that I did not request and for expenses due to the uverse service techs lack of professionalism.
