Sales Fraud! - AT&T U Verse

We had AT&T Uverse a few years ago and left the service because we had numerous connectivity issues. After having several technicians visiting our home they said there was nothing else they could do to resolve our issue so we decided to leave AT&T uverse and go to DirecTV. It's been about 3 years since we left AT&T in hopes that some improvements were made. We were offered a deal of $139.99 a month for a year for internet, uverse 450 and phone and have all install fees waived. We got the bill and it was $365.00! We called the customer service line and talked to a representative that said she was going to fix the bill, waive the install fees and that the changes would reflect in 3 days. After 5 days, no changes were made. This made us furious. We called AT&T again and this rep then said he was going to give us a promotional deal of $164 a month for what we originally asked for and added Red zone. Upon asking the rep to send us a written document with these details he indicated that there wasn't anyone that was available to do that. He also Indicated that he was going to make notes of the conversation and that we would get a call from a manager the next day. We recieved no such call. We then called the next business day to find our the rep didn't make any notes in regards to what we discussed over the phone. This rep then tried to give us another deal. It was at that that time we decided we were going to cancel service in which we were told that we would get a 30 Day free trial. If we cancelled a day later then it would be past the 30 days. It was obvious to me the tactic that AT&T uses for their business. They promise a deal that you can't refuse so they can get your service. Once the equipment is installed you then find out the deal was not as promised. You then have to call and talk to several resources to find that each rep is trained to "con" their customers into agreeing to a deal just so they can get you to commit. They don't send any type of confirmation of the services discussed and since there is no record of the conversation. This is how AT&T gets you. I suggest that for all you who seek the service to ask for details in writing before agreeing to sign up. We cancelled that day (the 30th day) and were told we would not be charged. I already know that we will have to call AT&T about this because I know we'll have issues.
